SCP-XXXX shortly after containment

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard storage locker or drawer as required by space. Under no circumstances is the bracelet to be put on or clasp locked by any person, outside of testing approved by a Level 4 official. Special considerations such as scouting runs or fasting aids may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a bracelet from the ██████ overeating support group. The bracelet has several motivational charms at various point of the bracelet, and a silver clasp at the end. The bracelet is able to accommodate all wearers regardless of the size of their wrist, adjusting its size accordingly. Material compilation is of pewter and iron and X-rays and other diagnostic tests reveal nothing out of the ordinary.

When someone places SCP-XXXX around their wrist and locks the clasp, they no longer feel compelled to eat, even if the person was complaining of lack of food/and or suffering from starvation at the time the bracelet is put on.

Research quickly discovered that SCP-XXXX only eliminates the desire to eat; the actual need for sustenance is still present. Subjects demonstrate typical signs of starvation as they continue to wear the bracelet, including loss of weight, pale pigment, visible bone structure, and loss of reasoning.

Subjects wearing SCP-XXXX will simply dismiss the above using a variety of options such as general malaise or “just a cold.” Subjects quickly repudiate the idea that it could ever be hunger, even when their body was near death from malnutrition.

The person wearing SCP-XXXX will refuse to remove the bracelet for any reason, citing it as a reminder of how much weight they need to lose, even if they are well within normal weight parameters. Attempts to remove the bracelet by force usually result in the subject becoming violent until the attacker relents or the wearer is incapacitated, knocked out, or killed.

Once the bracelet is removed, the subject will immediately feel severe hunger pangs, and will desire to eat a voracious meal significantly higher in calories than the 2000 calorie diet recommended by doctors.

Usage of SCP-XXXX with D-Class subjects that had a BMI of 45 or higher not accounting to muscle mass often had the additional result of [DATA EXPUNGED].

SCP-XXXX was discovered in the ██████ residence located in ██████, in which the lone occupant was found dead due to starvation, despite several foodstuffs being readily accessible in the house. Foundation agents immediately assessed the event upon notification and seized the bracelet. The support group’s central office informed the SCP Foundation that there had never been a chapter for their group in the wearer’s city, making the bracelet’s anomalous origins unknown.
