Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures:

Description: SCP-XXXX-1 is a rural road of unknown length located in █████████, Wisconsin. A sample of approximately 0.5 cubic meters in volume of the road's material was recovered during expedition III. Analysis of the material via mass spectroscopy revealed high levels of sand, gravel, crushed stone, slag, and fluid cement (concrete). The road consists of various potholes and cracks where tufts of a plant that superficially resembles Poaceae was discovered to be growing, designated SCP-XXXX. Upon molecular examination of a sample recovered from expedition I, the grass does not appear have genetic resemblance to any known species of plant on Earth. SCP-XXXX's genetic makeup does not include DNA or RNA and the molecules found within SCP-XXXX's genes are

The road begins at the intersection of █████████ Street and ██████ Road off of county highway ███, approximately ██ miles outside of █████████. While traveling down the road, subjects claim that the vehicle's internal clock seems to slow down, each minute passing slower than the last. After approximately ██ minutes of travel, all visible sky becomes deep orange in color appearing as if it is almost sundown, regardless of the time of the subject's departure.

A strong sense of fear, loathing, and dread has been reported in every subject to have explored the road after a varying amount of time. It is undetermined whether these feelings are personal or are connected to sightings of SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX-1's traits are not entirely known, as sightings by each subject have differed. However, a few physical features have been consistent enough to identify SCP-XXXX-1 as a werewolf-like being sporting a large set of eyes, a mouth of unknown, but most likely large diameter, and teeth of unknown length appearing to be razor sharp. SCP-XXXX-1 is assumed to be permanent resident of SCP-XXXX. During every expedition of SCP-XXXX carried out by the foundation, SCP-XXXX-1 has been shown to exhibit hostile, predatory behavior toward the subject. Approximately ███ minutes into travel, subjects begin to see SCP-XXXX-1 with SCP-XXXX-1 seeming to promptly stay just out of sight.

After a varying and ultimately unknown amount of time1, subjects claim to hear a faint scratching sound that gains in volume at a slow but steady rate over time. The scratching becomes so loud that the subjects promptly complain saying it is "unbearable" or "deafening."2 Once the scratching has ceased, subject's vehicle slows to a stop at an undetermined rate.

  • Subjects hear whispers behind radio music
  • Whispers are assumed to be from SCP-XXXX, the unknown grass species, or possibly from some other entity not yet discovered
  • Subjects hear a loud scratch and their vehicle stops
  • Unknown grass indistinguishable from normal grass and highly invasive
  • Grass is carnivorous
  • Write about subject turning around against orders
  • Sky turns orange
  • SCP-XXXX is grass
  • Can not be contained properly as the grass is highly invasive and spreads constantly with hardly any known way to stop its growth.
  • SCP-XXXX-1's length does not match the surrounding map of the area
