Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a steel metal case inside a reinforced steel room located at site-█ in ████, England.
Due to the effects of SCP-XXXX use is strictly limited to D-class personnel. After testing of SCP-XXXX has concluded, any D-class used for testing must immediately be terminated or if requested, be moved in order to be monitored. Affected D-class must be escorted to research containment site █.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a ████████ Asthma inhaler identical to others produced. The plastic holder of the inhaler appears to be painted black. The metal canister that would typically contain aerosol is connected to the plastic container and cannot be removed by any means currently known. When SCP-XXXX is inhaled, subjects will enter a state in which they experience specific symptoms associated with an asthma attack that will only stop for small intervals before continuing. These symptoms occur regardless of medical conditions or past experience with asthma. Subjects affected by SCP-XXXX will experience asthma attack symptoms regardless of whether subjects are in a conscious or unconscious state. Notable effects include, wheezing, loss of breath and severe coughing have been observed by researchers. While subjects appear to have symptoms of an asthma attack, no known death has been recorded by the foundation. The onset of SCP-XXXX appears to be permanent with the effects unable to be reduced, or removed. while the excessive asthma attacks prevent work to be carried out and cause discomfort, asthma attacks caused by SCP-XXXX appear to not be severe.

SCP-XXXX was recovered by Agent ███ Quick among other objects that were considered to be the cause of effects. all objects that were believed to have anomalous effects were confiscated at a small pharmacy located in ████████, Wales several hours after it was brought to the Foundation’s attention. Foundation were brought to the attention of SCP-XXXX when pharmacy staff worker ███ Paul was detained for interrogation after medical records related to SCP-XXXX was flagged by foundation analytics.

the first known user of SCP-XXXX, Mr Paul. Was hospitalised due to using SCP-XXXX in hopes of [data redacted]. Mr Paul was rushed to ████ medical centre after experiencing multiple asthma attacks with no prior experience with asthma. The pharmacy staff worker was placed in the foundations custody after field agents intercepted the ambulance transporting Mr Paul to ██ ██████ hospital from ████ medical centre for further examination. After Mr Paul was detained by the foundation, all medical files and records of SCP-XXXX was pulled from medical databases for foundation use. Any files related to SCP-XXXX outside the foundation were removed while anyone who had has contact with Mr Paul within 24 hours of SCP-XXXX's use were monitored by foundation personnel. All monitored subjects were issued a class A amnesiac after researchers concluded SCP-XXXX’s effects were not transmissible by anyone directly affected by SCP-XXXX. Mr Paul was terminated 23 days after being detained by the foundation.

Document: XXXX-A
SCP-XXXX testing log ██.
Date: 20/06/16
Lead researcher: Dr ███
Subject: D-19803889.
Notable details:
Subject has no previous experience with asthma.
Excessive smoker
3rd Test subject
Thirty (30) days since SCP-XXXX’s retrieval
Observations:
D-19803889 entered SCP-XXXX’s containment cell at 14:00. D-19803889 was instructed to use SCP-XXXX and complied. D-19803889 paused for two minutes before D-19803889 began showing symptoms of an asthma attack. D-19803889 was escorted by Security personnel from SCP-XXXX’s containment cell to research containment site █. D-19803889 was administered several regular asthma inhalers showing no signs of relief. D-19803889 was terminated shortly after.

Test results proved that SCP-XXXX has anomalous effects contrary to the belief of certain members of the foundation.

NOTE: Dr ████ Maxwell attempted to remove or reduce effects of SCP-XXXX temporary using high injections of [DATA EXPUNGED] into the subjects lungs. O5-█ allowed testing after Dr ██ contacted SCP-XXXX and was put into quarantine.

Test Log ██
Researcher: Dr ████ Maxwell
Date: 13/07/2016
Subject: Dr ██
Notes:
56 days after SCP-XXXX’s recovery.
Dr ██ affected after [DATA EXPUNGED]
the seventh affected subject that is known to the foundation.
Observations:
Dr ██ was sedated at 15:00. Sedation did not stop SCP-XXXX’s effects suggesting that the only known way to stop SCP-XXXX’s effects is death. After sedation, █████ was injected directly into subjects left lung. SCP-XXXX’s effects persisted with the addition to a rapid rise in Dr ██’s heart rate. The subject’s heart rate returned to normal at approximately 15:50. This occurred with the use of all of the chemical serums injected into the subject. Dr ██ was terminated five (5) hours later due to requests by O5-█.
