SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe Neutralized1

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard locker in the anomalous storage wing of site 86.

SCP-XXXX-2 is to be kept within testing chamber 54, which will serve as a containment cell until an effective way of moving the anomaly can be devised. A Scranton Reality Anchor has been placed in the containment cell, neutralizing its effects. SCP-XXXX is currently held in low priority non-anomalous storage, within containment site 86.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a collection of 23 thumbtacks of varying color, contained within a non-anomalous plastic box. When an instance of SCP-XXXX is used to puncture a solid surface, the area around the SCP begins to display minor spatial anomalies. Effects of the SCP include, but are not limited to:

  • Expansion of the wall surrounding SCP-XXXX by up to 30cm, despite the room its self retaining its original dimensions
  • Local gravity in a three foot sphere surrounding SCP-XXXX noticeably decreasing
  • The friction value of surfaces surrounding SCP-XXXX slightly increasing or decreasing

Once any instance of SCP-XXXX is used, it becomes inert, and ceases to show anomalous properties, however the hole it leaves continues to exhibit effects of the SCP, hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. Testing on SCP-XXXX has revealed spacial anomalies created by the SCP are largely inconsequential, mainly manifesting as minor physical changes to the immediate area surrounding SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX was contained within low-priority anomalous storage previous to incident RR-8940, in which SCP-XXXX-2 was produced. SCP-XXXX-2 is a far larger hole in reality, approximately 1.5 meters in height. SCP-XXXX-2 cannot be physically interacted with and remains locked in place. Due to its size, SCP-XXXX-2 produces exponentially larger spatial anomalies and does not dissipate following the application of a Scranton Reality Anchor, howevers it ceases to exhibit anomalous effects on the environment around it while the anchor is activated.
Following Incident RR-8940, the remaining instances of SCP-XXXX were rendered inert, and are no longer considered anomalous. Disposing of the remaining pieces of SCP-XXXX has been proposed and is currently being reviewed.

Recovery: SCP-XXXX was first discovered when an apartment block in ███████, Italy set off Foundation non-euclidean reality detectors during a routine sweep of the area. The building was evacuated and raided by MTF Lambda-6 ("Dominick's Donkeys,"), and SCP-XXXX was recovered without incident. Class A amnestics have been administered to the residents of the building. Interviews with the tenants of the relevant apartment indicate SCP-XXXX was not purchased by anomalous nor paranormal means, and the store at which they were purchased has no known ties with Marshall Carter and Dark nor Doctor Wondertainment.
