Item#: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX eggs are to be contained in a sealed 175 liter tank of water. No other objects are to be placed in the tank. Any presumed areas of infection are to be condemned and all infected humans are to be monitored to prevent SCP-XXXX's anomalous effect to occur.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a small eel-like parasite contracted via drinking liquid infected with SCP-XXXX eggs. The SCP-XXXX eggs will hatch 72 hours after ingestion. SCP-XXXX instances will then absorb body cells of any kind, and multiply every one hour.
After 256 instances are in the body, symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and cramping will occur. After 2048 instances are in the body, symptoms such as tumors, blood in coughing/sneezing, muscle spasms, discolored stool, and possible brain failure will occur. If an SCP-XXXX instance is harmed, its flesh will rapidly expand, filling every body cavity of the victim until their vital organs rupture. Large SCP-XXXX instances will then emerge from the victim's body, and will seek the nearest body of water, where they will produce more SCP-XXXX eggs.
SCP-XXXX instances appear to do actions simultaneously, suggesting that they could be colonial and/or hive-minded. They also exhibit adaptive intelligence.
Addendum-XXXX-1: SCP-XXXX was discovered during an outbreak of a previously unknown water-born parasite in [REDACTED]. SCP-XXXX came to the attention of the Foundation when various victims began to have tissue masses erupting out of their bodies, and "eels" emerging. The SCP-XXXX instances moved to water, where they multiplied. The outbreak was contained, and class-A amnesiacs administered to the residents of the location.
Addendum-XXXX-2: On █/██/19██, one infected human who suffered from SCP-XXXX's flesh expansion appeared to survive. Said human attempted to escape to a nearby lake, and dove into the water. SCP-XXXX instances emerged, and escaped into the water. Research to see if the SCP-XXXX species has mind-affecting properties, or any similar effect that would trigger the behavior exhibited by the victim has been suggested.
