Item#: SCP-2014
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2014 is to be kept in a three (3) cubic meter humanoid containment cell. This cell is to be provided with furnishings typical of those used in an adult human's bedroom. In the event that SCP-2014's fire abilities are not under its control, mounted sprinklers are to be activated to prevent any further damage. When SCP-2014 has to leave its cell unattended for any reason, it is required to wear an adaptive GPS tracker on its left arm so it can be located in any form it takes.
Additionally, on occasion, luxury items may be granted as a way of preventing deterioration of SCP-2014's mental state due to containment.
Description: SCP-2014 is an arachnoid female entity resembling a female of the species Nephila clavata (the East-Asian golden orb web spider). The subject displays sapience and knowledge of advanced topics such as theoretical physics. It is fluent in Japanese, American English, and Esperanto, with a preference for speaking in American English. It speaks with a dialect indicating an origin in Tallahassee, Florida.
SCP-2014 displays polymorphic abilities similar to those of SCP-953, but with the additional skill of emulating the abilities of what it is disguised as. When taking human form without being disguised as a specific individual, it usually takes the form of an attractive, muscular seven-foot tall Japanese female with its hair in a ponytail. In this form, it usually dresses in a "modern casual" attire (t-shirts, denim pants, running shoes).
SCP-2014 has also displayed the following abilities:
- pyrokinetic abilities, access to which is dependent with the amount of body fat currently contained in SCP-2014's body
- psychic suggestion (useless on insane individuals)
- telepathy (useless on insane individuals)
- most abilities expected of a Nephila Clavata spider.
- hyperspace storage abilities.
SCP-2014 displays the following prominent personality traits in addition to its cooperativeness:
- A hatred of Kumihos. All interactions between SCP-2014 and SCP-953 thus far have resulted in in SCP-2014 attacking SCP-953 unprovoked. When questioned about this, SCP-2014 referred to kumihos as "Cheap evolutionary knockoffs of kitsunes".
- A fear of scorpions
- A high degree of cooperativeness.
- A willingness to stay in containment, citing "prejudice" as the reason.
Software and Procedures
It was 5:30 PM in Paris, France. Jeremie Belpois was reading The 37th Mandela. Just as he finished the final page, Aelita Schaeffer, his girlfriend of eight years, walked into his room.
"Hello, honey," said Jeremie.
"Same to you," said Aelita. "I came over to inform you that I noticed unusual activity in the area around the supercomputer."
Aelita showed Jeremie an unusual symbol that she printed off the supercomputer's terminal. This symbol consisted of two circles, with the innermost circle having three arrows facing each other. Also on the image was a graphic consisting of the phrase "Broken God", with the "o" in "Broken" replaced with a gear.
"What could it mean?" asked Aelita.
"I have no idea," said Jeremie. "Do you think it's connected to the unusual activity?"
"Maybe. I'll go round up the guys so they can help us get to the bottom of this.
At Site-19, Clef and Dmitri were helping in the cleanup after an explosion in the "combat against undead" section of Training Facility 34 caused a problem with SCP-008. As they were just about to kill the last zombie so they could start the restoration of the facility, a loud scream of "Leeeerooooy Gerald!" was heard as a golf cart rammed into the zombie, ripped it to pieces while running over it, and flung its driver out of the cockpit while rolling out of control and coming to a stop as a wreck.
Jack Bright, who was watching everything, simply thought "That's nuts, even by my standards."
"Doctor Gerald, why are you here?" asked Dmitri.
"Strelnikov, I found evidence of possible Church of the Broken God activity in France and decided to tell you about it. I would've told Dr. Gears, but he's getting his tuneup and his phone was off. Re-Killing the zombie was a bonus."
Jeremie used Google to search for anything related to a "broken god", as well as the symbol.
"Hey, Yumi, look at this." said the blond.
They came up with results for a "Church of the Broken God", which appeared to be a cult dedicated to resurrecting a clockwork/technological deity of some kind.
Other results included an "Alexylva University" (a mind control-obsessed school in an alternate universe where the Greek Empire still exists), Doctor Wondertainment (an unorthodox toymaker), and "Marshall, Carter, and Dark Limited" (a paranormal rich-people club).
Odysseus Della Robbia (called "Odd" by his associates) said "The mother of one of my friends used to be a member of a Marshall Carter, and Dark Limited. I wonder if this is the same one."
"It might be. Aren't those the guys who do those paranormal auctions?" asked William Dunbar, who, being Scottish, was quite familiar with the history of the United Kingdom's culture.
At the scanner room, a tube opened. Inside was a stack of super-paper and a vial of contagious clockwork nanites.
After being positioned in France to confirm if there was truth to the Church carrying out activity in Paris, Clef heard the Geiger counter in his field equipment go off.
As he followed the source, he came to a bizarre sight: a supercomputer facility located underground, in a disused factory. Eight individuals of just-became-legal age were also standing at the terminal, monitoring the sudden activity. Just before Clef arrived, Jeremie realized:
"So, not only do we have to deal with a demonic computer program, but also organizations that see paranormality as a PLAYTHING!?"
"What is this?" asked Clef upon encountering the group.
