SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 5 meter x 5 meter lead-lined standard containment cell. SCP-XXXX is to be held in place with two latches placed upon a stand in the middle of the containment cell. Only when personnel enter the containment cell may the latches be released from SCP-XXXX. Before entering SCP-XXXX’s containment cell, personnel must be wearing a hazmat suit with a facial shield optimized for protection against blinding or bright lights.

Stressed, depressed, or anxious personnel are not allowed to be within a ten (10) meter radius of SCP-XXXX’s containment cell. Any personnel diagnosed with depression or an anxiety disorder, and personnel with a strong affinity for felines, are not to be informed about SCP-XXXX-1’s existence. In the event of such personnel attempting to enter SCP-XXXX’s containment cell, security personnel should be immediately detained.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a █████ black briefcase that appears to have no anomalous properties. DNA extractions of SCP-XXXX show DNA of feline creature, and inspections of SCP-XXXX show it to be made of black leather. Upon Initial inspection of SCP-XXXX, it had been reported to contain several documents (9), a calculator, and six (6) number two pencils. SCP-XXXX can be opened, and the items described above will always be there, even if they were previously removed. Upon closer inspection of SCP-XXXX’s interior, Dr.████ discovered that the documents listed above were mostly case studies of patients suffering from anxiety disorders. For example,

  • A document was found describing the treatment plan for a woman suffering from panic attacks.
  • A document was found describing the symptoms of a Gulf War veteran with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Upon further research of the patients in the studies, Dr. █████ found that all patients in the case studies had been reported missing. All people reported missing were never found. He also found nine (9) strands of black cat fur inside SCP-XXXX.

When someone that comes in contact with SCP-XXXX and expresses significant levels of depression and/or anxiety, SCP-XXXX will morph into SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 is a creature with the body of a large, female, Bombay cat. When morphing, the briefcase will remain intact and will constitute the head of the creature. A pair of feline ears appear on the top of the briefcase, with the handle between the two; the eyes (yellow), nose, whiskers, and mouth all appear on one of its broad sides. While transforming, SCP-XXXX-1's body will quickly sprout out of the suitcase, similar to a snail coming out of its shell. The eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and whiskers are all connected to the briefcase, and SCP-XXXX-1’s face is completely flat. SCP-XXXX-1 is able to meow, suggesting that SCP-XXXX-1 has vocal cords.

SCP-XXXX-1 will confront its target1 when he or she is in a relaxed position. The locks of the latch will undo, and the briefcase will open a crack, revealing a bright yellow light from within. After the target notices the light, the case will open completely. This floods the room with the light, blinding the target. The individual is then immediately teleported somewhere on Earth that would seemingly be a place or situation that would change his or her mood for the better, but in actuality, it's a place that will cause one or more of the following:

  • Frustrate the target tremendously.
  • Put the target in immediate danger.
  • Put the target in an overwhelmingly embarrassing situation.

SCP-XXXX will travel with the target, and morph back into SCP-XXXX. The only way SCP-XXXX-1 can turn back into SCP-XXXX is to teleport with their target. If there is another person with the target, SCP-XXXX-1 will open up and teleport their target, and other person will die of radiation poisoning. The radiation is hypothesized to be emitted from the light SCP-XXXX-1 creates, but this is unconfirmed. After radiation is emitted, it will usually clear in about five (5) to six (6) minutes. In rare cases, large amounts of radiation will dissipate in the usual time, but small amounts will be preserved. Because of this, personnel are required to equip hazmat suits before testing SCP-XXXX.
