SCP-XXXX Prior to containment.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX Is to be kept in the purpose built single car garage on Site ██. The garage door is to be monitored by site security (At the Request of Dr. G██████. See Incident 7207-A) and locked by padlock. A lock-box in Dr. G██████'s office is to house the key to the padlock along with the tracking sheet for SCP-XXXX's current trip number. If during experimentation trials SCP-XXXX approaches the ██th trip a D Class personnel may be used to reset SCP-XXXX's trip number. Under no circumstance during the ██th trip should SCP-XXXX be visually tracked be it by land, air, or satellite. (See Experiment 19)

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 4 door sedan of unknown make and model. The vehicle is entirely rusted out along with the lack of an engine. Despite this SCP-XXXX manages to run just like a normal car. The tires on SCP-XXXX are the only item of good condition. The tires also never seem to experience wear and tear and they along with the body of SCP-XXXX appear to be indestructible.

SCP-XXXX does not have an ignition key to start up. Instead when a subject sits in the driver's seat and thinks of a destination SCP-XXXX will then start up and immediately head towards the subject's desired destination. Testing has concluded that the subject must be in the driver's seat for this to work and simply saying aloud the destination will not make SCP-XXXX start up. When en-route SCP-XXXX will follow traffic laws and stay on the road even if provoked by road rage. It however has demonstrated that its able to get to any destination regardless of terrain or lack of roads. (See Experiment 27)

After every ██th trip SCP-XXXX will take its current subject to an unknown location. Subject and any equipment inside SCP-XXXX disappears and isn't seen again. It is currently forbidden to visually track or otherwise follow SCP-XXXX during this trip. Doing so will cause SCP-XXXX to gradually speed up and break traffic laws to get away from what it perceives as pursuers. The speeds will eventually get so high that great damage is caused to the surrounding environment. Significance between SCP-XXXX and the ██th trip number has not been determined.

SCP-XXXX came into foundation custody after an incident involving an abnormaly high speed chase with police that caused ██████ dollars worth of damage during SCP-XXXX's getaway.

Experiment 1
Purpose: Determine anomalous nature of SCP-XXXX.
Procedure: Researchers on site were trying to duplicate effects reported by law enforcement. SCP-XXXX remained unresponsive until researcher D███ got into the driver's seat. SCP-XXXX promptly took off and stopped at researcher D███'s home. Researcher D███ was questioned about the exact actions they were performing. Researcher D███ stated they were examining the dashboard when they got a text from their wife. Upon checking their phone researcher D███ immediately couldn't wait to get home and that's when SCP-XXXX took off. Further experimentation needed to determine exact cause.

Experiment 2
Purpose: Repeat Experiment 1 and find SCP-XXXX's trigger.
Procedure: Researcher D███ instructed to sit in the driver's seat. SCP-XXXX remained unresponsive. SCP-XXXX instructed to say their home street address. SCP-XXXX remained unresponsive. Researcher D███ instructed to think about their street address. SCP-XXXX started up and then took off towards researcher D███'s home address. A security team was dispatched to follow SCP-XXXX to observe any anomalous behaviors. No anomalous effects were observed.

Experiment 3
Purpose: Test Limitations of SCP-XXXX's trigger.
Note: SCP-XXXX has not shown signs of malice or ill content towards personnel. As such researcher D███ is still being used for testing.
Procedure: Researcher D███ instructed to sit in the back seat and think of their home address. SCP-XXXX remained unresponsive. Researcher D███ moved to the passenger seat and instructed to think of their home address. SCP-XXXX remained unresponsive. Researcher D███ moved to driver seat but this time told to think of the on Site address. SCP-XXXX promptly started up and went to the Site's front gate.

So I think its been established that SCP-XXXX will only work with someone in the driver's seat. And it seems we can use any address. To avoid cluttering up this file with what will appear to be repeat tests I will redact any repeated information unless its something of significance. -Dr. G██████

Experiment 19
Purpose: Continued testing of SCP-XXXX's limitations with different locations.
Procedure: Researcher D███ instructed to sit in the driver's seat and think of the address of the local military base. SCP-XXXX started up and went towards said destination. As with previous experiments a security team trailed behind SCP-XXXX to observe anomalous behavior. SCP-XXXX was then noted to veer off course from the desired destination. SCP-XXXX then began to gradually pick up speed and ignore traffic laws altogether. Security team instructed to keep chasing after SCP-XXXX and recover Researcher D███ still in the driver's seat. SCP-XXXX reached a speed of ██kph and started to break away from the security team. A air unit was immediately dispatched to keep track and follow SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX was observed to reach a speed of ███kph throwing civilian cars off the road and smashing through obstacles with ease. SCP-XXXX managed to escape the air unit going a speed of ███kph. The chase was called off due to the inability to keep up with SCP-XXXX. Satellite imaging showed the path SCP-XXXX took. Path ended 108km from the starting point. Ending point later examined by a security team for signs of SCP-XXXX and Researcher D███. No results were found aside from the destruction caused by SCP-XXXX coming to an abrupt halt. 6 days later SCP-XXXX returned to the starting point. SCP-XXXX displayed no visual damage even though a speed of ███kph should have caused aerodynamic heating to happen. Researcher D███ was also no where to be found. With the apparent loss of researcher D███, D-Class personnel will now be used in experiments.

I just lost one of my best researchers on site! And all because this bloody object suddenly decides to run away for no reason! -Dr. G██████

Experiment 20
Purpose: Determine if SCP-XXXX is now hostile.
Procedure: D-4926 instructed to sit in the driver's seat and think of Site ██'s address. SCP-XXXX as in prior experiments took off but did not stop at Site ██'s front gate. A security team trailed SCP-XXXX however it did not try to run away. SCP-XXXX stopped in █████, Alaska. It was determined D-4926 did not in fact think of Site ██'s address but instead his old home. D-4926 was terminated immediately for not complying with instructions. The trip to █████, Alaska covered 5126km and SCP-XXXX went off road to reach the destination as no road led to D-4926's old home.

Fascinating that it can operate with no issues in piles of snow. I would very much like to test the extent of this ability. -Dr. G██████

Experiment 27
Purpose: Test limitations of SCP-XXXX's terrain maneuverability.
Footnote: Since SCP-XXXX requires mental thought to operate only D-Class personnel passing the ████ Test will be used in testing.
Procedure: SCP-XXXX relocated to the border of Darien Gap in Panama. D-7396 instructed to think of ██████, Colombia as the desired destination. SCP-XXXX immediately went off road in the direction of the address. Due to the terrain and lack of roads an air unit followed SCP-XXXX through Darien Gap. SCP-XXXX took on the terrain with no issues and eventually arrived at ██████, Colombia.

I can see some applications the foundation would have for an object that can traverse seamlessly any terrain. Just need to figure out why it ran away in Experiment 19. -Dr. G██████

Experiment 43
Purpose: ██th attempt at finding the cause of the runaway in Experiment 19.
Note: Only Site ██'s address has been used as to cut down time on experiments.
Procedure: D-8488 instructed to think of Site ██'s address. SCP-XXXX took off towards the front gate but did not stop. Security teams on standby were instructed to barely keep SCP-XXXX in visual range at all times. SCP-XXXX began to gain speed. SCP-XXXX approached ██kph and security teams called off to prevent SCP-XXXX from causing damage to the surrounding area. Satellite imaging showed SCP-XXXX to have not caused any damage suggesting that it knows when its being followed. When the security teams were called off it can be assumed that to returned to normal speed. No end point was determined and D-8488 is to be considered lost. SCP-XXXX returned to the starting point after 6 days just like in Experiment 19.

Incident: 7207-A
Researcher A███ using a bolt cutter broke into SCP-XXXX's containment garage and used SCP-XXXX. A guard posted at the front gate saw SCP-XXXX leave. The guard notified on site security that a potential containment breach was in effect. A security team was dispatched to follow and contain SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX did not runaway nor display any usual effects outside of it's norm during the persuit. Upon arriving at Cigs n Beer Liquor Store researcher A███ was found to be in the driver's seat and questioned. Researcher A███ stated that gas prices were currently too high and that Site personnel should be aloud to use SCP-XXXX since it doesn't require fuel. Researcher A███ was demoted to D-Class and SCX-XXXX was re-contained. At the request of Dr. G██████ a security camera will now be placed outside of SCP-XXXX's garage and monitored by security.

Ladies and gentlemen of Site ██ let me make it clear that any use of an anomalous object without prior approval is immediate grounds for demotion and potential termination. I don't care how expensive gas is right now the foundation pays you all adequately enough to afford it. -Dr. G██████
