Universal Containment Procedures
This document is to be used for general briefing of new staff. Unless noted in other documentation, the instructions herein should be followed at all times.
"Common sense" does not override these rules.
- When you find a redacted section of a document, you do not have clearance to view that data. Make no further attempt to access the information.
- Researchers should not conduct experimental procedures on themselves. Human analogues for any given experiment are available and can be requisitioned after supervisory approval.
- Assume every object is composed of hazardous materials. Always use appropriate equipment to handle them.
- If you forget what you're doing, keep your hands against the closest wall, close your eyes, and move to the left. While moving, attempt to locate an available wall-mounted alarm and trigger it. While doing this, repeat: "I may have been infected by an amnestohazard. Please inform the necessary personnel." If possible, plug your ears and minimise additional sensory exposure.
- If you find yourself becoming sexually or romantically attracted to an object, you must immediately leave the containment area and report to a supervisor.
- Outside of work hours, all personnel must carry their identification cards. During work hours, all personnel must clearly display their identification cards on the front of their clothing. If you encounter someone within a facility not displaying an identification card, immediately trigger the closest wall-mounted alarm.
- No object should be exposed to its own containment procedures. This includes inanimate and non-sentient objects.
- All objects in transport should be clearly labelled on every side with the Foundation logo, the associated Object Class, any pertinent containment procedures, and associated warning labels for specific hazards. This information should be written in English, as well as the local languages of any locations that object will be moving through while in transit.
- All contained objects should be hermetically sealed while in transport. If an object needs to breathe, or has other persistent physiological or physical requirements, appropriate transport containers are available.
- If a security alarm is triggered and you are not Security personnel, lights on both the floor and ceiling will indicate your evacuation path. If you are Security personnel, you should be immediately contacted via radio as to the location and nature of any threats. If this does not occur, all terminals during an emergency will display pertinent information for Security personnel.
- During an emergency, do not utilise radio channels more than necessary. Once your message has been acknowledged by Security personnel, you should send one further message confirming your receipt, and then minimise transmission to security-pertinent events.
