Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: The object must be contained on a reinforced glass container at all times to reduce incidents involving SCP-XXXX and to prevent further damaging of the object as well as at least one(1) level 0 security personel to maintain surveillance. All personnel must wear a full protection suit in order to handle the object and in the case of a undergoing test, all files/ videos/ photos involving the testing subject must first be cripted but can be recovered after the test. Any personnel trying to touch SCP-XXXX without clearance must be detained if possible.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a small statue (5,5cm width in the back and 7,8cm width in the front, with 10cm in height and 15,3cm in length) made out of a unknown greenish alloy resembling a roundish bisson with a weight of 4.18k, and due to the Unknown Incident (see Addendum XXXX-B) it is slightly damaged on the left side. SCP-XXXX is completely clear of any microbes and although it is destructible it is extremely hard and durable and can be affected by corrosion and some other environment exceptions but in a much slower rate than common alloys. SCP-XXXX is also a small source of radiation and heat absorbtion (normally being at 1ºC less than the ambient temperature), but its not enough to make any damage. The age and origin of the object are unknown.
SCP-XXXX has already gone through many tests, but all the test subjects that were involved on those experiments are inexistent or anonymous only subjects after Test VII (see Addendum XXXX-C) could be fully identified. It seems that the object is capable of erasing any living organic matter out of existence by the touch, but other anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX are not yet clear because of the lack of information regarding it. Duo to the object properties we can’t be certain about other effects it might have other than the effects listed here.
Overall, the experiments have proven that SCP-XXXX is capable of erasing not only the subject in itself, but also all other information regarding it. In the case of photos and videos the deletion is almost perfect, the only issue is that it won’t alter other objects from which the subject is handling, most aways leaving it floating or just moving by itself (not including the subjects cloths). In audio records, if the subject was emitting any sound it is completely deleted, leaving a gap in the record, but without clearing the background sounds. The name of the subject, if pronounced by other subject, is also cleared.
All written names or descriptions of the subject are erased, leaving the surface were it was written as if it was never touched before and SCP-XXXX is also capable of recognizing codenames or nicknames from the subject, and even drawings can be erased, thus making SCP-XXXX possibly semi-sentient. SCP-XXXX can't change numbers or data/ percentage regarding the subject, although they are changed in the mind of others it can't do the same on other means (there are a few exeptions). All memories regarding the tested subject are forgotten as well and none can escape the effect.
It is possible to fool SCP-XXXX by changing the data before the subject is erased, thus making the subject anonymous but not deletable. SCP-XXXX also can't change encrypted content.
Addendum XXXX-A: Circumstances of Retrieval:
SCP-XXXX was found on ███████████ National Park at Angola near ████████ city. After many reports of “ghost houses” in the city, the Foundation sent a team of 9 level 2 security personnels and 1 level 3 security personnel to search for anomalies. All “ghost houses” were bought by someone and have been used frequently, with many objects in the houses well cared, but no witnesses had any records of anyone living there. The team found SCP-XXXX near a small altar but couldn’t touch it nor move it until they used gloves. After the object was brought to the Foundation, only 6 of the 10 personels sent came back, but besides the documentation number, no one remember having more than 6 on the group.
Foreword: [Audio Record from the searching group that found SCP-XXXX. In this transcription Security Personnel will be refered to as SP.]
<Begin Log, [06/29/20██, 19:57]>
SP2: We might have found it.
[footsteps on the grass]
SP0: Someone, go grab it!
[forest sounds]
[footsteps on the grass]
SP0: Hey! Didn’t i said for someone to go get the SCP? [Blank] get the SCP into a container!
[forest sounds]
[footsteps on the grass]
SP0: There we…
[forest sounds]
SP0: Why did no one picked up the statue already?!
[footsteps on the grass]
SP0: To hell! Why is everyone just standing in there?
SP6: Sir, it might be one of the effects of the SCP.
SP0: *sigh* Of course… Try to approach it.
[footsteps on the grass]
SP0: Nothing happened, see? Now grab a container and put this in there so we can leave this dam forest. Use your dam gloves if your so scared to grab it!
SP6: The SCP has been contained.
SP0: Lets hope this is what we were looking for.
<End Log, [06/29/20██, 20:9]>
Closing Statement: [The object was safely brought to the Foundation without incidents. When the group returned it has been noticed that SP1, SP4, SP5 and SP9 have never existed]
Addendum XXXX-B: The Unknown Incident:
1: First Occurrence, [07/1/20██,12:12]
While attempting a containment breach, a unknown entity accidentally touched SCP-XXXX and was instantly deleted. No files of this entity where saved although it is believed that it was a SCP due to the damage it has done to the building. SCP-XXXX has been slightly damaged on this occurrence and so, from this date forward SCP-XXXX must be contained on a reinforced glass container at all times and a level 0 Security Personnel must be guarding the object to reduce more incidents.
Addendum XXXX-C:
Test I - 06/30/20██, 9:45
Subject: D-????-1
Procedure: The subject was told to touch SCP-XXXX without any protection. The experiment was filmed, documented and witnessed.
Results: Witnesses could not remember the subject although the test was documented and was clearly still running. The footage show no signs of the subject and all documentation regarding the subject was erased, even the name and number of the subject. No other data was deleted, including data that referred to the subject in a indirect way.
Analysis: As seen on this experiment and on the audio from the search group the object is capable of memory distortion, video/ photo distortion, documentation distortion and possibly audio distortion regarding the subject it enters in contact with.
Test II - 06/30/20██, 18:00
Subject: D-????-2
Procedure: The subject was told to make a lot of noise and then touch SCP-XXXX. The experiment was filmed, documented and witnessed.
Results: Similar to Test-A, witnesses could not remember the subject and all footage has been edited as well as the audio. Documentation regarding the subject was also deleted except data that referred to the subject in a indirect way.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX is capable of erasing audio but can’t change data that does not refer directly to the subject. In further experiments, all information regarding the test subject must be previously edited in other to make the subject anonymous and prevent documentation corruption.
Test III - 07/02/20██, 7:20
Subject: D-XXXX-3
Procedure: The subject was given a rubber ball and was told to play with it for at least 5 minutes under surveillance and once he was done, he was asked to touch SCP-XXXX. The experiment followed with conditions previously established by the other tests.
Results: In the footage, the rubber ball was moving by itself. Besides that, no documentation was lost, and even the number of the subject was recovered due to the conditions established in Test-B
Analysis: SCP-XXXX can’t alter objects used by the subjects on video and audio of those objects is also not altered.
Test IV - 07/03/20██, 10:30
Subject: D-XXXX-4
Procedure: D-XXXX-4 was provided with a protection suit and was asked to touch SCP-XXXX. The experiment followed with normal procedures.
Results: D-XXXX-4 did not got deleted.
Analysis: It is possible be protected from SCP-XXXX.
Test V - 07/03/20██, 10:45
Subjects: A lab rat and a rose as well as D-XXXX-4 to conduct the experiment.
Procedure: D-XXXX-4 was provided with a lab rat, a dead leaf, a living rose and a rubber ball and was told to make each of those items touch SCP-XXXX. The experiment followed with normal procedures.
Results: The lab rat and the rose where deleted, but no data, except the memories of those items, was deleted probably because they were not identified. The rubber ball and the dead leave were not deleted.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX can only delete living organic matter.
Test VI - 07/03/20██, 11:00
Subject: R-XXXX-1 and D-XXXX-4 to conduct the experiment.
Procedure: D-XXXX-4 was provided with a comon lab rat which will be referred to as R-XXXX-1, and was told to make it touch SCP-XXXX. The experiment followed with normal procedures and a brief document was written about R-XXXX-1 before the test.
Results: As expected, R-XXXX-1 has been deleted as well as all information regarding it on the document.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX can only delete information from the subject if the subject has been identified before.
Photo of R-XXXX-2 before Test VII
Test VII - 07/03/20██, 18:00
Subject: R-XXXX-2 and D-XXXX-4 to conduct the experiment.
Procedure: R-XXXX-2 was recorded making a sound. The record was then converted to as many different types of files as possible, including a cryptic file, and the same has been done to a document referring to R-XXXX-2 and a photo. Once it was all done, D-XXXX-4 was told to make R-XXXX-2 touch SCP-XXXX. Other aspects of the test followed normal procedure.
Results: All files regarding R-XXXX-2 where deleted, except the cryptic files. Photo, document and sounds were recovered, although no witnesses could remember seeing R-XXXX-2 before the experiment even after looking at the documentation.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX can delete any kind of intelligible file but not encrypted content. In further experiments, all information regarding the test subject must be previously encrypted to prevent documentation corruption.
Test VIII - 07/04/20██, 15:10
Subject: D-XXXX-5
Procedure: The subject was told to draw a apple and himself. For the record, he had no drawing abilities and his draw was pretty bad. Beside D-XXXX-5, the artist ████████ has also drawn a picture of D-XXXX-5 and a apple. Both were also told to write D-XXXX-5 name, code name and nickname in 5 different types of paper and with 3 different types of ink. All papers were photographed and the images have been encrypted. Other than that, the experiment followed with normal procedures.
Results: Both drawings of the subject got erased, but the apples didn’t. All names also got erased, but as expected, the cryptid files didn’t.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX might be semi-sentient as it can identify drawings and nicknames of the subject but it won't alter anything done by the subject before the deletion. This could explain the ghost houses in ████████ city.
Test IX - 07/05/20██, 06:15
Subject: Instance of SCP-243
Procedure: After being animated by SCP-243, the object was presented SCP-XXXX and made contact. The experiment followed with normal procedures.
Results: The instance of SCP-243 was not deleted.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX can’t delete animated non-organic objects.
Test X - 07/05/20██, 13:30
Subject: D-XXXX-6 (a infected subject of SCP-008 in a advanced stage of the disease).
Procedure: The subject was presented to SCP-XXXX and made contact with it. The experiment followed with normal procedures.
Results: D-XXXX-6 and most data regarding the subject was deleted, but he left a puddle of SCP-008 on the floor.
Analysis: As the subject is still a living organic organism he was deleted as per usual, but, as SCP-008 is a non-living organic matter, it was not deleted.
Test XI - 07/06/20██, 12:50
Subject: ███ specimens of SCP-236.
Procedure: [DATA EXPUNGED]
Results: [DATA EXPUNGED]
Analysis: SCP-XXXX can't change numbers or data/ percentage regarding the subjects, although they are changed in the mind of others it can't do the same on other means.
More Test are still pending review.
Addendum XXXX-D: Termination uses:
The request to use SCP-XXXX as a termination option is still on queue as the object could potentially have other unknown dangerous effects other than the deletion of the subject as well as it could be the actual cause of those incidents and anomalies instead of just deleting entities.
