Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 are to be kept together in a cylindrical chamber at Site 19. The chamber is to have a diameter of 8 meters and a height of 18 meters. The walls are to be waterproofed and designed to withstand SCP-XXXX-1's pressure, and the chamber is to remain airtight via an airlock. SCP-XXXX-1 is to be given a drawing done by a volunteer staff member1 currently assigned to SCP-XXXX once every two months. The drawing must depict a Rhinecanthus rectangulus (Reef Triggerfish) or other member of the order Tetraodontiformes and be signed with the name "Lucy" in the bottom-right corner in order to satisfy SCP-XXXX-1's needs. In the scenario that SCP-XXXX-1 rejects the drawing, SCP-XXXX-1 is to be given an object that once belonged to PoI-XXXX. All of PoI-XXXX's material possessions are kept in storage locker-XXXX at Site 19, and a copy of the key to storage locker-XXXX is to be given to all level 2 security personnel assigned to SCP-XXXX.

After a Boiling Event occurs and SCP-XXXX-1 has fully absorbed the object that concluded the Boiling Event, SCP-XXXX-2 is to be removed from the chamber into a connecting holding chamber of similar dimensions by two D-Class personnel. Janitorial staff must then drain the chamber of non-anomalous water.

As of ██/█/2010, there are 63 individual objects left in storage locker-XXXX. Please refer to Dr. Orwin for a full inventory of objects in storage locker-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX-1 is an amorphous entity that is made of a solution of water and protein-based hormones that closely resembles the chemical make-up of human emotional tears. SCP-XXXX-1 often takes a humanoid shape, although the object has been observed taking various other forms. SCP-XXXX-1 is sapient, and is capable of speech by vibrating the liquid that forms it's body. SCP-XXXX-1 is fluent in English, and often talks in the third person, referring to itself as "Guppy".

SCP-XXXX-1 has a strong desire to collect objects that it deems of having importance. In order for an object to be satisfactory, it must fulfill at least one of the requirements in the list below. SCP-XXXX-1 will not always accept an object if it only fulfills one preferred trait, but an object that fulfill multiple requirements will usually be accepted by SCP-XXXX-1. The following list has been organized by least favored to most favored traits by SCP-XXXX-1:

  • The object must depict an animal from the order Tetraodontiformes.
  • The object must be an oil-on-canvas painting with aquatic themes present in the piece.
  • The object must be made of at least of 3 Kilograms of limestone and must have been sculpted with "intention"2 by a human.
  • The object must be signed with the name "Lucy" somewhere on the object.
  • The object must have been owned or made by PoI-XXXX (Lucy ██████). People that were friends or blood relatives of PoI-XXXX are also acceptable objects3.

Once SCP-XXXX-1 obtains an object that it finds acceptable, it will absorb the object into itself and begin vibrating slowly, constantly emitting a low rumbling noise. The object will then begin to dissolve over the course of the next 2 to 8 hours.4 SCP-XXXX-1 becomes extremely docile for 1~2 weeks once it completes this process, and will be significantly easier to contain.

If SCP-XXXX-1 has not absorbed a suitable object in roughly 2~3 months since it's last absorption, it will begin to slowly increase in temperature over the course of the next 24 hours. (This event is commonly referred to as a Boiling Event by researchers and guards assigned to SCP-XXXX. This scenario will be referred to as a Boiling Event from here on out for simplicity). Additionally, it's temperament will become increasingly hostile towards human life, and SCP-XXXX-1 will begin to be unable to vocalize clearly. Once it reaches it's boiling point (roughly 100°C), SCP-XXXX-1 will become a cloud of vapor and will try to locate a suitable object for absorption. Once an object that is acceptable is located by SCP-XXXX-1, it will cool down rapidly and condense near the object to begin the absorption process5.

SCP-XXXX-2 is a limestone fountain measuring roughly 2 meters in height and 1 meter in width and length. It is currently in disrepair, as several parts of SCP-XXXX-2 have broken off, including the basin at the base of the fountain and part of the spout. SCP-XXXX-2 is capable of producing the solution that SPC-XXXX-1 is made of, but will only do so if SCP-XXXX-1's volume ever falls below 200 meters³ or during a Boiling Event. SCP-XXXX-2 will always remain submersed inside SCP-XXXX-1 while it is docile. When it is removed from SCP-XXXX-1, the water that formed SCP-XXXX-1 will become non anomalous and SCP-XXXX-2 will begin to create a new instance of SCP-XXXX-1. If SCP-XXXX-1 was absorbing an object when SCP-XXXX-2 was forcibly removed from it's body, a Boiling Event will begin immediately.

When SCP-XXXX-1 starts a Boiling Event, SCP-XXXX-2 will continuously create the solution that makes up SCP-XXXX-1 until the Boiling Event concludes, causing SCP-XXXX-1 to grow in volume rapidly. It is unknown if there is a limit to how much liquid SCP-XXXX-2 can create. To date, the largest volume SCP-XXXX-1 has reached during a Boiling Event has been estimated to be around 850 meters³. When SCP-XXXX-1 changes into a gaseous state, SCP-XXXX-2 will begin to create steam to continue adding to SCP-XXXX-1's mass.

Once SCP-XXXX-1 finds a suitable object and exits it's agitated state, most of the mass that was produced by SCP-XXXX-2 during the Boiling Event becomes inert and non-anomalous. The exact volume of SCP-XXXX-1 that remains anomalous after exiting the Boiling Event is inconsistent and changes on a case-by-case basis, but on average, 9█% of all mass gained during a Boiling Event is lost when it concludes. Additionally, SCP-XXXX-2 will create around 5 meters³ of it's solution after the Boiling Event and will join back up with SCP-XXXX-1 while it absorbs the object.
