Hello, and welcome to my sandbox!
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained at Site-104 for further research. Subject is kept in a 20 x 20 x 5 m steel containment chamber to allow the subject move freely during testing. Steel is required to be at least one foot thick. No less than four guards are required to be on duty at all times, armed with a FN-F2000 assault rifle. Due to the entity's strength, only D-Class personnel are allowed to enter the containment chamber for testing or or maintenance. Tests will be monitored through the cameras installed in the containment chamber. In the event of a containment breach, a site wide lock down shall be initiated until SCP-XXXX has been re contained to prevent further damage to the facility. SCP-XXXX has attempted multiple breaches in the past, three of which have resulted in full site lock downs.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a humanoid creature covered in fur standing approximately 3.35 meters tall. SCP-XXXX has a muscular build and denser bones than any previously found organism. Subject's eyes appear black when exposed to light, but will illuminate white when light is limited.
Subject's mouth appear to be circular, resemblant of a parasite. SCP-XXXX generally targets larger tress as a food source, such as the sequoiadendron giganteum. When hungry, SCP-XXXX will latch onto a tree and will suck the nutrients out of the tree and the soil around it. This process usually takes 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the size of the tree. When finished, SCP-XXXX will detach from the tree, and will move on to another leaving the tree to die.
SCP-XXXX is relatively calm and will only attack if it feels threatened. Subject has attempted to play with the D-Class Personnel in past tests, resulting in several deaths. SCP-XXXX does not seem to realize its strength. A recent test showed SCP-XXXX capability to thrown an object weighing 1600 kg without much effort. This strength makes SCP-XXXX extremely difficult to re contain.
SCP-XXXX has four retractable claws on its hands and feet. Each claw is approximately 0.35 meters in length. Tests reveal the claws' function as including climbing trees and in combat. If SCP-XXXX is provoked by a smaller subject SCP-XXXX will engage the assailant without unsheathing its claws, and will throw, crush, or beat the assailant to death. But, when faced with a threat around SCP-XXXX's size or larger, SCP-XXXX will unsheathe its claws.
The first documented sightings of SCP-XXXX started in the 1960's, when a ranger noticed areas of dying Giant Sequoias in Sequoia National Park. Upon investigation, the ranger noticed strange claw marks going up the tree trunk. The park ranger along with several others returned to the location the next day in an attempt to identify the animal. Upon arrival the group noticed large footprints leading away from the tree. They followed the footprints for several hours only to find themselves standing in front of another Giant Sequoia bearing the same claw marks. The group then departed back to the original location. Around dusk, the park rangers saw SCP-XXXX silhouetted on a hill near one of the lookout stations. Frightened by the sight, the rangers fled from the location. The story was told to an local law enforcement agency containing several undercover Mobile Task Force Iota-10 members. Forty three hours later, SCP-XXXX was captured and contained by Mobile Task Force Epsilon-3.
Witness: Park Ranger John Wright
Interviewer: Agent ████ ██████
Foreword: Park Ranger John Wright telling undercover Iota-10 agents about his encounter with SCP-XXXX.
Agent ████ ██████: Can we help you sir?
Witness: Officer! Officer! Officer, I saw something! I had never seen it before, it was huge and had glowing eyes and uh-.
Agent ████ ██████: Whoa, slow down. Take it easy, I can't understand you when you're speaking so quickly. Take a breath.
Witness: (Starts takes deep breaths until his breathing slows)
Agent ████ ██████: Now, what did you see? Take it slow, from the beginning.
Witness: I-, I uh, I was walking through the forest, taking a stroll, and I came across this dead Sequoia. But this was different, it had these weird claw marks on it. I had never seen anything like it. I looked further up the trunk, and saw this ring shaped bite in it. I have come across some weird tracks in my life, but this was out there. Then I, I-… (Begins to breathe faster)
Agent ████ ██████: Take it easy. So what about the marks?
Witness: (Slows his breathing) Well, I tried to identify them, but I couldn't. I mean, they were bigger than anything I have ever seen. So the next day I returned with a couple other park rangers to the location. We tried to identify the marks, but we couldn't. That's when one of the fellas noticed several large footprints behind the tree. I mean it when I say large. We followed the trail for hours, and eventually we ended up standing in front of another dying Sequoia. It had the same marks on it as the last one we looked around for any more footprints. By that time, the sun was gonna go down. We didn't wanna get caught in the forest at night. We began to make our way back. And then we saw it on the ridge near the main trail. Jesus Christ, it was one of the most massive creature's I've ever seen, standing on two feet and covered in fur. And it's eyes, they glowed like the moon. We began to run and… (Words become jumbled).
Agent ████ ██████: Slow down. It's eyes glowed?
Witness: Sir, you'd think I'm crazy, it was terrifying. I swear, I am not crazy!
Agent ████ ██████: Around what time did you see this?
Witness: Around dusk, near the Park Ridge Lookout.
Agent ████ ██████: Alright. Get in the car. I need to contact someone.
Closing Statement: Shortly after, the Foundation was contacted and Mobile Task Force Epsilon-3 was dispatched immediately to the site.
