Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a standard medium SCP Foundation storage locker located at Site-██. A minimum of one guard is to be stationed near this locker at all times. At no point should any personnel below a Level 2 be allowed access to SCP-XXXX. Testing of SCP-XXXX is limited to use on Class D personnel. When SCP-XXXX is active, no personnel, excluding test subjects, are permitted within 100 meters of SCP-XXXX-1.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a pair of primarily black Chuck Taylor All-Stars sneakers. The shoes are men's, size ten. The word "Motivation!" is handwritten in black permanent marker in the center of the sole of the right sneaker, along with a small smiley face directly below it. The writing appears slightly weathered, presumably from wear, and predominantly because of SCP-XXXX's anomalous nature. In addition, the name "Jason" is written in the same medium inside the tongue of the opposite shoe. SCP-XXXX demonstrates it's anomalous properties when both sneakers are worn by an able-bodied human being with functional legs and feet. This person is henceforth SCP-XXXX-1. The anomalous properties do not manifest when SCP-XXXX is worn by animals. The sneakers must be fully laced to exhibit these properties. Within 10 seconds of SCP-XXXX being put on and laced, all humans beings within 100 meters, excluding SCP-XXXX-1, will start running toward the wearer. As a group, all affected persons are SCP-XXXX-2.

The speed at which the SCP-XXXX-2 runs toward SCP-XXXX-1 appears to vary inversely with how fast SCP-XXXX-1 is currently running. Maximum recorded speed of SCP-XXXX-2 is [REDACTED], when SCP-XXXX-1 is remaining completely stationary. As SCP-XXXX-1 starts running, SCP-XXXX-2 collectively slows down at the same rate. If SCP-XXXX-1 utilizes an additional form of transportation, such as a car, plane, boat, or train, SCP-XXXX-2 reacts as if SCP-XXXX-1 is remaining stationary. The use of a bicycle or similar device will result in SCP-XXXX-2 to react as if SCP-XXXX-1 is running, presumably due to the constant movement of the feet.

When any part of SCP-XXXX-2 reaches SCP-XXXX-1, they will attempt to run through SCP-XXXX-1, resulting in SCP-XXXX-1 being severely trampled. As more of SCP-XXXX-2 eventually reach SCP-XXXX-1, it becomes increasingly difficult for SCP-XXXX to escape. The only way to counter the effects of SCP-XXXX is by physically removing it from SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX cannot be taken off without undoing of the laces, excluding detachment or severing of affected appendages. Because of this, pausing to undo the laces of SCP-XXXX in an attempt to cease the effect will let SCP-XXXX-2 accelerate toward SCP-XXXX-1 at a much faster rate, increasing the risk of being fatally trampled. Upon the death of SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX's laces will undo themselves, and any anomalous properties will cease until SCP-XXXX is worn again.

Addendum: SCP-XXXX was originally discovered in the lost and found at █████ High School in ████, ██, after a "flash mob" had reportedly occurred there several weeks prior that had resulted in the death of student █████ ███. Yet, before retrieval was commenced, the entire contents of the lost and found was donated to a local Goodwill the following summer, upon which Foundation personnel was dispatched to retrieve it.
