An illustration of a figure that bears resemblance to SCP-XXXX, found in the pages of a book estimated to be at least █00 years old, taken from a home in [REDACTED], Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a modified Humanoid Containment Chamber with walls at least 10 meters thick. Requests from SCP-XXXX for additional decor in the style of the late 18th century require approval from personnel with Level 4 clearance and above. Any additional items brought in by SCP-XXXX itself1 are to be confiscated, and taken for inspection. Any that are found to be anomalous are to be taken to a different containment unit for further inspection. Any items that are found to have no dangerous or negative effects may be used for use by the foundation with approval from personnel with Level 4 clearance and above. Any items that are found to have dangerous or negative effects are to be destroyed. SCP-XXXX does not need to be moved out of it's chamber during this so long as staff inform it that the items are being confiscated before they do so2. Researchers with Level 3 Clearance and above may conduct tests with SCP-XXXX. In the event SCP-XXXX brakes out of containment or testing areas, security personnel are not authorized to use force against SCP-XXXX, and instead are instructed to convince SCP-XXXX to be escorted back to its containment unit to minimalize potential injuries to nearby staff.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a one meter tall humanoid figure dressed in a black robe. It has luminescent yellow eyes, no physical face with any features aside from the aforementioned eyes, and pale white hands. With its robe on, SCP-XXXX appears to have a body, but upon further inspection it's robe is filled with a shadow-like amorphous substance, of which it's eyes and hands appear to be somewhat connected too. Testing has not revealed what the shadow-like substance is composed of. The robe is made of cotton, yet is highly resistant to penetration and cuts, and mends itself in time.

SCP-XXXX requires only a small amount of sustenance. As it seems compelled to give people items whenever it receives a source of blood, SCP-XXXX is to be given vegetable/fungal matter for consumption. SCP-XXXX does not excrite waste of any kind. As SCP-XXXX does not have a discernible mouth, it is not clear how it magages to eat or drink. SCP-XXXX puts foodstuffs in the area where its mouth presumably would be, followed by the appropriate eating or drinking noises for the material consumed. Despite this, people who have been bitten by SCP-XXXX report "A sharp pain, like being stuck with multiple needles", and researchers have determined that SCP-XXXX has sharp teeth of some kind.

SCP-XXXX is capable of human speech. SCP-XXXX can produce items from inside its robe. Research has been unsuccsesful in determining how SCP-XXXX does this, or where the items may have been previously. SCP-XXXX will give its "customers" almost anything in exchange for blood, the source of which does not matter to SCP-XXXX. The value of the item depends on how much blood was given.

SCP-XXXX was discovered in [REDACTED] Alberta, Canada, after an incident occurred in which a portion of the city was set on fire that resulted in over ███00 civilian casualties, after a transaction occurred between SCP-XXXX and a man who investigations have revealed to be a former researcher for the SCP Foundation, Mr. [REDACTED]. Mr. [REDACTED] had exchanged 500 L of blood from a local blood bank for several specimens of SCP-111. Mr. [REDACTED] had let them loose in downtown [REDACTED]. Before leaving the Foundation, Mr. [REDACTED] had expressed multiple times his intense dislike of the city. Agents were sent to locate Mr. [REDACTED]3. Mobile Task Force Omicron-8 ("Prairie Wolves") were dispatched to collect the specimens. Afterwards they began searching for SCP-XXXX who evaded capture for 29 days, until they were able to subdue it.

When SCP-XXXX moves, it appears to be gliding along the ground. Additionally, SCP-XXXX can move itself from one spot to another in less than a second, even if it's path is blocked. This seems to exhaust SCP-XXXX, and as such it only uses this method to gain access to areas that are either too high for SCP-XXXX to climb to, or have paths to them blocked. When this happens, people, animals, and other entities within sight of SCP-XXXX experience low blood pressure, and as such are unable to see what manner of locomotion SCP-XXXX uses. Camera footage of these events show SCP-XXXX's robe melding with its body, and the shadow-like amorphous substance traveling through the air, and phasing through objects and creatures that block its path.

Adendum-01: 3 days after SCP-XXXX's initial containment, an incident occurred in which SCP-XXXX broke out of containment and tried to find customers in the staff break room. SCP-XXXX was interviewed to determine why it did so once it was escorted back to its containment chamber.

Adendum-02: As a part of the ongoing research into SCP-XXXX, Dr. Vanheim conducted the following interview with SCP-XXXX to question it about its origins.

Adendum-03: After Dr. Remmelk was unsuccessful in getting SCP-XXXX to make a comprehensive list of its items available for purchase, he asked to oversee tests to discover what the range of items SCP-XXXX will sell to people is, noting that it may have access to [REDACTED], which would benefit the foundation. The first round of testing was approved.
