if you're continuing a conversation, you can click the "reply" link at the lower right of the comment you're responding to. Helps so people are sure of who you're talking to. If you make a new comment, forum-goers assume you're talking to everyone reading the thread, not necessarily in reply to someone.

A sandbox should have the name of the author in the URL, so people can tell to whom the page belongs. Right now, it looks like the page belongs to someone with the wikidot username "".

Locking this thread as another exists for the work in progress. Reviewers, please comment here:

As noted in the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/t-2295410/how-to-use-this-forum-drafts-and-critiques draft forum guidelines]: authors, please do not create multiple threads for the same working draft. Using one thread helps keep spam down, and prevents flooding of the forums with repeat threads. Furthermore, it helps reviewers a lot if all corresponding feedback is kept in one place for efficiency of reference and discussion.

Locking this thread as another exists for the same concept in progress. Reviewers, please comment here:

As noted in the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/t-1019200/how-to-use-this-forum-ideas ideas forum guidelines]: authors, please do not create multiple threads for the same working concept. Using one thread helps keep spam down, and prevents flooding of the forums with repeat threads. Furthermore, it helps reviewers a lot if all corresponding feedback is kept in one place so they can follow the development of the idea and its details.

Authors, please do not create multiple threads for the work in progress. Doing so is spammy and unfair to other writers who do not flood the forums with redundant threads. Furthermore, it helps reviewers a lot if all corresponding feedback is kept in one place for efficiency of reference and discussion.

If you're having trouble getting further replies on a thread, you can go to the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/chat-guide IRC chatroom] and ask people there if they can reply to the forum thread, or message a [http://www.scp-wiki.net/contact-staff staff member] and ask them if they can direct chat attention to the thread.

If you're going to try giving feedback in the forums, try to at least respond to specifics rather than posting a generic response that could be interpreted as relating to any number of drafts. Furthermore, the point of the forums is to help the author improve their work. If you don't have anything to say in that regard, let someone else handle making the first post.

Misleading feedback can result in an author getting the wrong impression of their work, and may lead to them posting a page that is not yet ready for the mainsite, and then getting slammed with a bunch of downvotes that they don't expect.

If you only comment on one small detail, it may give the author the incorrect impression that everything else in the draft is fine and not in need of fixing. If you're not inclined to write more of a substantial review, please hold off on making the first post so a more experienced reviewer can address the thread first. As staff reviewers prioritize threads with no replies, someone posting a low-content critique actually can make it harder for the author to get a more thorough review.

Furthermore, please remember that review staff prioritize threads with no replies, so adding extra comments to your thread will lower its visibility and make it less likely that we'll see it needs a review on the forum listing.

Mainsite Posts

Author, if you haven't already, you should create a [http://scp-sandbox-3.wikidot.com/ sandbox page] for yourself. The drafts you finish writing there should be shown to the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/chat-guide IRC chat] and/or the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/c-50864/help:drafts-and-critiques drafts forums] for feedback //before// you make a new page on the mainsite. You'd potentially catch a lot of mistakes in the editing phase by doing this (and you'd also be following the rules, which state that works in progress are not allowed on the mainsite).

(and all other readers/writers), once something has been posted to the mainsite, it's treated as finished, polished work. Anyone giving the author feedback beyond a vote is doing them a favor, not fulfilling an expectation. Critique should be sought in the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/chat-guide IRC chatroom] and/or the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/c-50864/help:drafts-and-critiques drafts forums] //prior// to a mainsite post; forums and chat are where the bulk of detailed feedback is given.

This is a courtesy message from the SCP Foundation wiki. A mainsite page created by you has recently been deleted, due to its rating falling below deletion threshold set by the guidelines here: http://www.scp-wiki.net/deletions-guide

The source text for the most recent version for your records is below. Feel free to edit the code in a [http://scp-sandbox-3.wikidot.com sandbox page] and post a revised version to the site when you've gotten feedback on a suitably-edited draft.

Additionally, you may find it helpful to bring your concept to the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/c-89000/help:ideas-and-brainstorming Ideas and Brainstorming forum] before you try fixing the draft. You can go to that forum, post a //quick summary// of the concept you want to write up (don't link the draft unless someone asks), and reviewers there can help you make the idea more interesting and give you some advice on structuring the eventual article for smoothness of reading and narrative.
